Space Week

This week was all about space!

Monday The platypi decorated their own “rocket” by coloring a large box, completed a constellation word search, and created tin foil moon paintings.

Tuesday The platypi marble-painted planets, which they then turned into mobiles with their help in threading. They also worked on space-themed worksheets that included vocabulary, tracing, and counting, and explored a sensory bin focused on space using black beans and stickers.

Wednesday The platypi had lessons about planets, completed literacy worksheets, and engaged in an alphabetizing activity, followed by space-themed coloring.

Thursday The platypi enjoyed Q-tip painting stars, traced their own constellations, labeled the solar system, and worked on number sense and crack-the-code worksheets, as well as color-by-code activities.

Friday The platypi had fun making scenes with the stickers from our sensory bin, strung star beads, and created "My World" books. Their books helped them to conceptualize their place in space by identifying their house, neighborhood, country, planet, solar system, and galaxy.
