Picnic Week

This week was all about picnics!

Monday Our picnic theme started off strong with picnic themed worksheets. The platypi practiced their letter tracing, organized picnic themed items by size, and matched the number of items to their corresponding digit.

Tuesday The platypi had fun with various picnic themed tens frame counting and addition activities. In the afternoon they asked to do more math themed worksheets as well as a tracing and coloring worksheet.

Wednesday The platypi enjoyed a multi-step art activity in which they painted their own picnic blanket background for their craft. They then made their own watermelons and lemonades to go on their picnic blanket scenes. Of course, no picnic is complete without some ants crashing the party!

Thursday As we neared the end of the week, the platypi focused on watermelons! First, we made a watermelon handprint craft. Later, they enjoyed a watermelon seed counting activity in which they counted, added, subtracted, and discussed more and less. They finished the day with their own picnic themed coloring books.

Friday The week ended with various picnic themed puzzles, q-tip painting flowers, and making handprint flower pots. We finished the day with our own picnic at a local park.
