Literacy Week

This week was all about books and literacy!

Monday The week started off focused on books by Mo Willems! We read nearly all of the Elephant and Piggie and the Pigeon series. The platypi also colored pictures of the characters, made a pigeon craft, did themed worksheets, an elephant and piggie themed puzzle, tic tac toe, and played a should I share my ice cream game. It was a Mo Willems packed day!

Tuesday We entered the world of Little Blue Truck by reading books, doing an animal/truck sort and an alphabet sort.

Wednesday The platypi focused on the If You Give A Mouse A Cookie series. We read the series, did themed worksheets, and ate cookies!

Thursday The platypi enjoyed Chicka Chicka Boom Boom by reading, doing an activity with the letters of their name ascending a coconut tree, making our own coconut tree handprint and adding letters, and exploring our own alphabet letter stack!

Friday The platypi read We’re Going On A Bear Hunt. Then, they enjoyed tracing worksheets, our own bear hunt craft/story sequencing, and a bear hunt hot and cold activity. The week finished off with A Color of His Own chameleon watercolor painting and color mixing handprints!
