This week was all about DINOSAURS!
Monday the platypi started off strong by learning about various dinosaur names with coloring sheets and play dough mats. They did a dinosaur handprint craft using paint and construction paper. For littles that struggle to open their hands, or do not prefer to have paint on their hands, you can use footprints as well!
Tuesday the platypi explored math concepts with a roll and cover activity as well as addition and subtraction sheets. They worked on their fine motor skills with a simple foam cut out window cling activity. Preparation included cutting foam sheets into fun dinosaur shapes and filling spray bottles with water. The platypi practiced spraying water on the window to stick the dinosaurs to the surface as they created their own imaginative scenes.
Wednesday the platypi used dinosaur figures to explore what dinosaurs ate, where they lived, and other fun facts. They did a fun dinosaur resist painting using our Crayola paints and cut images of dinosaurs. The day was completed with making our their own dinosaurs out of Picasso Tiles.
Thursday the platypi made abstract dinosaurs out of geometric shapes made from neon paper, built a dinosaur house out of Picasso Tiles, and learned more dinosaur facts while practicing fine motor development through more play dough mats.
Friday the platypi made dinosaur watercolor paintings, practiced their cutting skills with dinosaur themed cutting sheets, gained more pattern recognition, sequencing, and tracing skills through dinosaur worksheets, and did both a dinosaur mud and soapy clean up sensory bin.
